Alan York

London Representative of the Bailey York Trading Company, owned by his father. His mother died when he was ten so he was brought up by his father in the former Southern Rhodesia and was well trained by him in business and general self-sufficiency. Fairly rich, he is particulary good at detecting fraud. He is in his second season as an amateur jockey and has two horses of his own, Forlorn Hope and Palindrome. Lives with the Davidson family. Came second to Bill Davidson in the Amateur Riders list in his first season and was likely to come second again until Bill's death. Is given Admiral by Scilla Davidson. Determined to find out who arranged the ‘‘accident' that killed his friend.
